My Home Town

My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice.

But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town. Many people had no work. They lived a hard life.

In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is greatly improved.

I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.

I live in a small town. In the past ten years, great changes have take place in my hometown.

In the past, people lived a terrible life. They used to live in old houses. Rubbish can be seen everywhere and the environment was polluted. The transportation was not convenient and there were few visitors.

At present, things are greatly changed. People have moved into big bright houses. Many people have their own cars and they are living a happier life. People pay more attention to the environmental protection. The mountains are becoming greener, water much cleaner. They enjoy a clearer sky. As a result, many visitors come here to spend their holidays.

I love my hometown. I hope it will become more and more beautiful.
